Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-05-06

Last updated: 2026-10-10

GolfGo ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use golfgo.net and the GolfGo apps.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Name, email address, and profile picture (when you sign in)
  • Account and profile information
  • Event participation, scoring, and activity data
  • Device and usage information (for improving our services)
  • Approximate or precise location when you use location-based features and grant the relevant permission
  • App installation identifiers, push notification tokens, and technical request information used by the services described in Section 5

2. Google Sign-In and Google User Data

When you sign in using Google, we may access the following information:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Profile picture

How we use this data:

  • To authenticate your account
  • To create and manage your user profile
  • To enable participation in golf events, scoring, and related features
  • To communicate important service-related updates

Important:

  • We do not sell your Google user data. We disclose it to service providers only as necessary to provide or secure GolfGo features, consistent with the Google API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements.
  • We do NOT use Google user data for advertising purposes
  • We only use this data to provide core app functionality

Compliance statement:

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Calendar Data: Access and Use

Calendar synchronization is optional and requires your authorization to connect your Google Calendar. GolfGo requests permission to view and edit calendar events so that it can find, create, update, or remove the calendar events associated with your GolfGo golf schedules.

When you confirm a golf schedule and enable calendar synchronization, GolfGo creates or updates the corresponding event in your connected calendar. If the golf schedule changes or is cancelled, GolfGo updates the corresponding calendar event or removes the cancelled event to keep your calendar consistent with your golf schedule.

The calendar data we access and use for this feature includes event identifiers, golf schedule titles, dates, start and end times, time zones, course names and locations, and event descriptions or links back to the GolfGo schedule. We read relevant event information to identify previously synchronized events and avoid duplicate entries. We store authorization tokens and synchronization information as needed to maintain the connection and synchronize subsequent changes.

We use Calendar Data only to provide and maintain the calendar synchronization feature you authorize. We do not use Calendar Data for advertising, sell it, or use it to build advertising profiles. Calendar information is exchanged with Google Calendar and processed by the service providers needed to operate this feature, subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke GolfGo's calendar access at any time through your Google Account's third-party connections settings. Revoking access stops future synchronization; it does not automatically remove events already added to your calendar. You may remove those events in your calendar and request deletion of data held by GolfGo as described in Section 6.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate our golf event platform
  • Manage tournaments, scoring, and leaderboards
  • Improve app performance and user experience
  • Communicate service updates

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored securely on cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS or similar providers)
  • We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data
  • We retain data only as long as necessary to provide our services

5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data only:

  • With service providers as needed for hosting, authentication, maps, location-based features, and notification delivery, as described below
  • When required by law

Cloud hosting and storage - Amazon Web Services (AWS)

We use AWS for cloud infrastructure and hosting. Account and profile information, golf activity records, uploaded content, and technical request logs may be stored or processed on this infrastructure to operate, maintain, and secure GolfGo.

Account authentication - Google Sign-In

When you choose Google Sign-In, Google processes the sign-in request, and GolfGo receives the account identifier, name, email address, profile picture, and authentication information needed to sign you in and manage your GolfGo account.

Calendar synchronization - Google Calendar

With your authorization, Google Calendar processes golf event details to create or update events when you confirm or change a golf schedule, and to update or remove the corresponding event when the golf schedule is cancelled. See Calendar Data: Access and Use in Section 2 for the data involved, purposes, and how to revoke access.

Maps and location - Google Maps and Mapbox

We use Google Maps and Mapbox for map display, course search, and location-based features. Depending on the feature you use, these providers may process map and search requests, selected places or coordinates, IP addresses, and device or browser information. When you grant location permission and use a location-based feature, your approximate or precise location may be processed to display your position or provide nearby results and directions. You can manage location permission in your device settings.

App services and push notifications - Firebase and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)

We use Firebase services, including FCM, to support app functionality and deliver push notifications. These services may process app installation identifiers, push registration tokens, device and app information, and notification payloads to route messages and maintain delivery. You can manage notification permission in your device settings.

Third-party SDK processing

Third-party SDKs and embedded services may transmit the relevant data directly from your device to their providers. The data processed depends on the platform, enabled features, permissions, and SDK configuration. These services process data under their applicable terms and privacy policies. Using Firebase does not by itself mean that every Firebase product, such as Analytics or Crashlytics, is enabled.

6. Data Deletion

Users may request deletion of their GolfGo account and associated personal data at any time by contacting info@golfgo.net or using the account deletion option in the app, where available. Upon a valid deletion request, we will permanently delete the user's account and associated personal data, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate security, fraud-prevention, or record-keeping purposes.
